Dear Friend and Listener:

In tonight’s edition, I look first at the Capricorn New Moon (which happens Thursday). This takes place conjunct Mercury, which is about halfway through its retrograde, and sextile Mars. Mars is applying to a conjunction with Neptune on New Year’s Eve. Be the designated driver!

I then give you a preview of the astrology of 2017, looking out as far as 2020. This includes the continuation of the Uranus-Eris conjunction, plus Venus retrograde in Aries and Pisces in the spring. There are also several events taking place in the late degrees of Sagittarius and Pisces, the major one being Chiron square Pholus.

I extend the reading out to the concentration coming in Capricorn from 2018 through 2020, for which we are now all in a phase of preparation.

My musical guest is Dead Can Dance, a versatile and talented band I’ve been looking forward to featuring. I select tracks from their 1987 album Within the Realm of a Dying Sun [Amazon | iTunes].

Programming Notes — On New Year’s Eve (this coming Saturday evening), please tune in for Eric’s year-end Planet Waves FM. And one week from today, he will have his long-awaited special on J.R.R. Tolkien, featuring Eric’s interpretation of the author’s chart and readings of his work by the British master of the stage, Martin Shaw.
