An Evening with Wolfgang (and Dan and Eric)

Sample of a Mozart musical manuscript that he completed prior to the age of 10. Seriously.

In tonight’s somewhat late edition of Dan and Eric’s Music Appreciation Hour, we absolutely positively appreciate Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Our music selection includes a trio divertimento, a symphony, an opera and a few other bits and bobs, ending with “name that tune.” Here are the charts of Mozart’s birth and death and his progressions at the time of his death.

Here is a more confident playing of Mozart’s K1a, his first piece composed at give years old, played not by a cat but by my ancient astrology client from the 1990s (that was during the 20th century) Theresa Garton, doctor and lover of boxers and horses and all other critters, and who is apparently a classical pianist.

  1. I finally took the time to listen to the Mozart podcast and it was brilliant. I’m a big fan of this crazy genius and enjoyed both the astrological info from you Eric and the historical and musical info from Dan. I performed Mozart’s Requiem a few times when I was singing in choruses. Not an easy thing to learn, a gut wrenched for sure but thoroughly enjoyed the process.
