I begin with an update of the major news items of the week, talk about what's happening in East Palestine, and give historical perspective on the discovery, isolation and purification of dioxin in the 1950s. On Friday's program, I will explain the dioxin issue from top to bottom, back to its discovery in 1949 to the train wreck on Feb. 3. We must demand that the government conduct dioxin tests in East Palestine and for hundreds of miles around. They still have not done so — at least publicly. And people have been allowed back into their homes.
Tonight's program features an interview with Carol van Strum, the Oregon-based environmental activist and litigator who taught me the art of document collecting.
