In today’s edition of Planet Waves FM, I look at the Capricorn New Moon that’s exact on New Year’s Day. This unusual alignment includes a close grouping of the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Pluto, as part of a grand cross with Mars, Jupiter and Uranus. Well, not unusual — actually rare.

I explain the connection of this event to the upcoming April 23 version of the grand cross and the U.S. chart, and describes a few ways to turn this alignment into leverage and positive momentum in your personal life.

In the last I offer a news roundup from Fukushima, addresses rumors currently circulating about units 3 and 4, the Japanese secrecy law and the Japanese journalist who told the truth about the “nuclear village,” fought back against a libel suit and won.

Re the Capricorn New Moon

The easiest way to explain the power of this event is to say: the Uranus-Pluto square is generational astrology that is influencing a decade-long span of history, and our individual lives along with it. During such a long event, there are times when it fades into the background and times when, thanks to other planets, it comes to the forefront.

In those moments it’s possible to see and observe the changes that are usually concealed from view. The pace of change can become obvious, you might have an enhanced sensation of the passage of time, you might notice what you previously missed.

With the Capricorn New Moon, we have not only a moment of prominence of the Uranus-Pluto square; we have a threshold event that begins a new phase in history; a point of no return; a moment of reckoning. This is the beginning to what will, undoubtedly, be one of the most interesting years of the past decade.
