Lots and Lots of Pisces

Visit the Planet Waves FM archive at this link. Tonight I have an exciting edition of Planet Waves FM for you, covering the ongoing, rapidly developing astrology in Pisces. This includes the Sun, retrograde Mercury, Venus and Mars in Pisces, along with slow-movers Chiron and Neptune. This is a truly unusual alignment — looking for anything as interesting in Pisces I had to go back to around 1967 to find something this cool. After I cover the astrology — and play a song by the Florida-based band Pilotwave — I take a gander through the news, including looking at the chart for sequestration (that is, mandatory budget cuts) that are supposed to happen two nights from now. I manage to skip the pope leaving office and look at the petition by a number of prominent Republicans who are supporting the right of lesbian and gay people to marry. I read from and comment on an article in The New York Times — here is that article. I had to leave out a lot of stories, though today’s newspapers read more like something out of fiction than the real world — such is Mercury retrograde and a bunch of other planets in Pisces. Here is your program in the Old Player. Note, you can download a compressed file of the program on the Old Player page, which also includes a full archive of Planet Waves FM going back to 2010. More recent programs are collected in the category listing at the top of the blog frame. Britt Arnesen, getting ready to take her show on the road. In tonight’s edition of Planet Waves FM, I look at the symbols associated with the meteor striking Russia, the asteroid flyby, lightning striking St. Peter’s Basilica twice and the Roman earthquake — all in the aftermath of the pope’s resignation. My main theme seems to be: what do we do with what we’ve been learning about the atrocities of the Roman Catholic church? How do we assess the damage and where to we being the healing process? I also go over the upcoming confluence of astrology: the Sun conjunct Neptune in Pisces, Mercury stationing retrograde in Pisces and the Virgo Full Moon square Jupiter. In true Mercury retrograde (in Pisces) fashion I have a few extra details to include — though I do cover the basic territory at the top of the program. Our musical guest is Britt Arnesen, a recording artist originating in Alaska and now living in Montana. She is a force of nature, a magnificent singer, a talented guitar and banjo player and a great writer. Yes, Ms. Arnesen has it all, and she spent today in the recording studio working on her new CD. You can find her on the Internet here, at her 907Britt website. Here is her Facebook page.

Pope Meets the Centaurs

Pope Benedict XVI this week became the first person to resign the papacy in nearly 600 years. This happened during a week of centaur conjunctions (covered in detail in Tuesday’s edition of Daily Astrology), which tend to bring shadow material to light. Benedict was directly implicated in the child rape coverup that has been shaking the church for more than 20 years, and which turns out to date to the 1950s, so this was an appropriate time for him to quit. This is a complicated chart, reaching into the highest affairs of government and corporate power, and may speak to something much larger; some are proposing that the child rape version of the story is a coverup for another story — a money laundering scandal in the Vatican bank. I ran across he work of a writer named Keven Annett, who explained this position. I thought I would check his theories against the chart and they do seem to hold water, if not holy water. In astrology, the themes of power, sex and money are related through the 2nd and 8th houses, and it turns out that this chart is all about those houses — with other implications taking it to the top of the world management team. The chart for the resignation announcement is below; here is a zip file of all the charts I’ve used. I also reference my coverage of Ratzinger’s election as pope in 2005 — I covered that at the time for Jonathan Cainer’s website in article called “Pope Signals.” Our musical guest is Sinead O’Connor; I play a live recording of a song called Whomsoever Dwells, which you can watch on her website here, or purchase the full compilation. The main chart is below. Here is your program in the Old Player. Note,…
