In this special edition of Planet Waves FM, you get to hear an extended conversation between me and Rob Hand, the dean of American astrology. The original topic of the interview was the real position of the Catholic church on astrology. We also cover the nature of Chiron and the minor planets, the age of minor planet discovery, how asteroids work, and then we end up in a long conversation on the history of astrology. This somewhat answers the questions, "What is Hellenistic astrology?" and "What is Medieval astrology?" and, "What is Persian astrology?" This discussion is not edited -- you have it in its original form. The conversation began at 7:11 pm EDT on May 20, and took place between Kingston and Las Vegas.

Mercury Retrograde: Real Ideas; Real Information

Recently I released my 2015 spring reading -- a Mercury report covering the upcoming retrograde, from early next week through June 11. I was in part inspired to do this because of how challenging the last Mercury retrograde was, the one over the winter. People are still talking about it four months later. Some are joking that it never really ended.

I begin tonight’s program I survey the culture of cheating that we live in, and take the question back to Chiron in Capricorn and the Enron scandal. I also look at the upcoming Mercury retrograde, and the involvement of Mars in that pattern. And then I go over a grouping of aspects between now and Friday that include Mars opposite Saturn, Vesta conjunct Chiron and Psyche conjunct 1992 QB1. In the third segment I do the chart of Bono and talk about how it is that he became involved with Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois, reading from an interview with Brian and Danny who tell the story in their own words.

I begin tonight’s program a discussion of the Beltane Full Moon, which is Sunday evening (Monday morning in the UK and Europe). Move onto a discussion of man-made vs. natural disasters and how we emphasize the two. In the second half the the program I continue my discussion of the Millennial generation, on the topic of what digital is doing to trust. I also read the natal chart of Brian Eno, and share two of his songs with you.
